Howdy,
About to head on my first deployment to Camp Buehring next month and wanted to see if there were any other Ags out there. I'll be there during football season, so definitely need some buddies to watch the games with. Gig 'em!

Best way to find Aggies is to organize a Muster! You should have your bearings straight by the time that rolls around. Try to find the MWR or PAO point of contact or the actual person. Let them know about Muster and explain the morale it brings. They will usually help out with where to put flyers or maybe even sometime of email that gets sent out.

By the time football season rolls around you'll be all set!

Also, get in good with the USO people or local nationals who run the entertainment areas. I was on a small camp in the Sinai Peninsula and was the guy who set up all the watch parties. Even set up the Army Navy game and got them to make us free food.

In that culture, it's all about being extremely nice to the habibis and Arabs and they will help you out. They wear their emotions on their shoulders, be nice to them and they will go out of their way to impress you!

Roger. I was the USLO. I had a blast working with the Liaison Team. I was there 2019-2020.

It was hell at times getting people in and out of the country during covid and a DOD Travel Ban. Lot of people were extending and lot of favors were cashed in with my Egyptians and LAWIO.

Unfortunately, lost two really good friends in the Blackhawk crash over the OP we had on the small island off of South Camp. I couldn't believe that both were the pilots on that mission. Shook me up pretty good.

Many good memories on that tour though,

Yeah, that crash was rough. Didn't know either as well as you did, but had met one pilot previously.

Did they still have the brads when you were there?

They arrived one night after our IED and indirect problems got worse at north camp. Apparently now it's matv's? Big changes.

The surburbans and land cruisers were fun though.

No brads. No MATVs or jeeps that I saw. All suburbans now from what I remember.
