Lots to question in that movie, including all the fights that occur right next to that huge hatch.

My main question is, that scene at the end where one plane tethers itself next to AFO, and everyone ziplines out of AFO to the waiting plane...is that remotely possible? Hell, what about the wind speeds while they're on the zipline? And that dude just kicked open off the cabin door so all this could occur.

I know, I know...just suspend belief and enjoy the movie. I did, alot more when I was younger. The older I get though, a bit more questioning and jaded.

I'm gonna share this tidbit of information with you as somebody who used to work "On the Lot", somebody who has been on auditions, somebody with a number of friends "In the Business".

In Hollywood, EVERYTHING IS FAKE

I hope that helps.

And, before you get too wrapped up about Air Force One with Harrison Ford, you need to go back and take a look at Airport '77.

Well, I'm well aware that those scenes weren't actually filmed in mid-air.

Asking if they were in any way possible to perform, if the Air Force was capable of such a thing.

I must apologise. It wasn't Airport '77, it was Airport '75 when Hollywood first pulled off the midair personnel transfer.

I just rewatched that seen. I think it'd be possible, though not near as easy as it's depicted in the movie. They'd probably have to be a little lower than what they were in the movie.

What about those winds? I mean, I guessing you're ziplining going at least 400 mph (sideways)??

I would imagine they're going much less than 400 mph. Is your concern the effect of the wind on the body? Or the effect of the wind on being able to move down the cable to the other aircraft? If it's the former, I'd say if they were 200ish mph or less, it wouldn't be comfortable, but it would be possible. If it's the later, I think if the C130 is low enough it wouldn't matter. Although I could see how they could get stuck in the middle of the cable. I've stuck my hand out of a helicopter at about 120kts, and it'll definitely pull it back hard.
