I was thinking through the funniest moments of my few years on active duty, and figured I'd shown you mine and see what y'all've got:
Marjah, Afganistan: Company leadership was in the daily planning pow-wow when a LCpl backs in (his hands were full) through the exterior door. He turns around and freezes in shock when he realizes there's a meeting in progress full of everyone he never wants to talk to. He regains his composure, renders a "Good evening, gentlemen," toward our universal silence, and quickly makes his exit through the other door - all while balancing basketball-sized packages of heroine up to his chin.
We had known the squad was bringing some drugs back to test following a successful interdiction, but that moment and the laughs following it were priceless.
