OD on prescription meds, it was not accidental.
He served in C Co 1/1 in the mid 90's. After the Corps, he had a rough go of it and life finally did him in.
Although I doubt anyone here knew him, I will refrain from mentioning his name out of respect for his family.

Guys, if you are getting near this point, get help. Talk to someone, anyone. Hell, ask for my number and call me.

Too many, too damn many...

Fair winds and following seas my friend.

Very sorry to hear about your buddy. It never affects just the individual, but also all those who loved and cared about him. May he rest in peace.

Still far too many of our veterans dying senselessly like this. I couldn't agree more - we need to encourage all who feel so hopeless and alone to seek professional help. I only hope more will.

Dammit. Been around too many of them -- military and civilian. The help was there. It either wasn't asked for or it wasn't recognized. So damn awful.
