I'd rather current cadets pass word that having a corps run at rush hour and blocking traffic on Bizzel on a Friday is a bad idea and should never happen again.

LOL! It's so funny when someone passes words from the Corps! Rumors would be the more correct word! Don't trust anything you hear unless it came from the Commandant's staff or Corps Staff ie, CC or DCC!

I remember when I was on Corps Staff, we'd get e-mails on the outfit listserv, or go back to our outfits for activity and hear complaints about stuff Corps Staff was making them do, or how we're only giving them 2 days to do something. When in actuality, we gave them 2 weeks, and their CO sat on it until the last minute, or sometimes we'd get blamed for stuff that we'd never even heard about before.

So many rumors and drama. It's like high school.

Scruffy, I kind of really enjoyed the afternoon Corps Runs instead of the morning ones.

I posted a quote from Dave South about the March Around. I didn't say it was gospel or that the Commandant was not being forthrite in his explanations. I didn't say it as Dave South had insider information. I posted it to show that, of all people, and pretty humorous at that, even Dave South had talked about it. I THOUGHT everyone would get a kick out of it. And some did. That's what it was intended for. Some didn't. I found it funniest that during a game that wasn't really going the Ags way, Dave South resorted to talking about the Corps. Most days that's a good thing. Apologies to those who took the post as anything other than the humor that was intended.

No apologies necessary for me, Chrismaroon! I never listen to Dave South, so certainly no harm and no foul with me!

ANYONE who listens to cadets say what is and isn't going to happen with the Corps might as well be listening to Dave South tell them whats going with the Corps! The absolute WORST source for information about the Corps and whats REALLY happening is the CADETS! I love them like my own sons and daughters, but they ARE 18-22 year old men and women, and aren't necessarily the best source of information about ANYTHING - especially what the Office of the Commandant is or isn't going to do.

And for all the Old BQs out there, I too, used to look forward to the Flight of the Great Pumpkin, for all the WRONG reasons!! I allowed Company C-2 to bring back the tradition of the Flight a couple of years ago, but the Band has absolutely NO involvement any more - for all the RIGHT reasons! Its a great event, and I'm glad to see it back.

Sorry about the afternoon run and the tying up traffic. We usually do the Corps runs at 6 am (I run with them), but they opted to do an afternoon run this time to signify the next phase of Corps Brass. We won' do that again this year. My apologies for any problems we might have caused - certainly not our intent.

Frankly, I can't believe the access the Commandant has given us. Straight to the top. Very impressive.

And for the record, I am a massive fan of Friday 5pm Corps Runs - dating back to the first one I accidentally ran into when I was still in High School. As many roads as they've blocked off across campus these days, I can't imagine that they could cause too much damage to the flow of traffic.

After a long day of working with meatheads, thanks for brightening my day y'all. I can't wait to see this stuff first hand in 2 weeks.
