Did the question in the OP ever get answered? I checked with my nephew, who is a Zip in Spider D and XO of the Cav. He says it's true.

He gets his marching orders from the university's liberal administration. Since the corps can't be eliminated, the progressives are working to re-shape it to their liking. It's a process that mirrors the decline of our country over much of the past decade (JMO).

Just curious, has the gag order placed by the commandant on the Cav regarding the Spirit of '02 at Kyle Field been lifted?
