To accomodate the growing size of the band each outfit was set go from three to four platoons next year. With the addition of the two new outfits the fourth platoon was cut. Since we'd already had leadership positions decided for quite a while by that point, that left a platoon leader, platoon sergeant, 2-3 squad leaders, and 4-9 team leaders in each outfit suddenly stripped of their positions right before marching final review. Of course they had the opportunity to apply for those positions in the new outfits if they were willing to make the switch, but the uncertainty of it all probably wasn't the greatest news to be hit with right before final review.
