By my time...Boozin' B was B-2. Part of the 4th BN, 1st BDE (B-2, D-2, F-2 & L-2). Going completely from memory:

B-2 = Boozin' B or The Boozers

D-2 = Dog Company

F-2 = Fox Company

L-2 = Roughrider L or The Roughriders

When Outlaw 8 was formed (Summer of 91), there was some convincing that had to be done with the Trigon. At first they did not like the name and the message it sent.

Yeah, and the FTAB "stole" A-Battery's logo AND hump - "tough, tenacious, tops"! Only good thing is that us A-Battery types can still get outfit gear thanks to the theft...LOL!
Sq 13's (aka Thunderin' 13) logo in circa 76-78 was a duck in Eisenhower jacket, boots and pi$$ pot, dragging along a bottle of "Ol' Duck XXX" we had one fish two p-heads, several serge buttes but mostly zips since most of us were married students or ex-military. "Best damned outfit on the campus, and off the campus too!"

Lee72, I remember a time when a couple of underclassmen in A Battery tried to change the logo and hump it our Zip Year. It gained some steam, but a vast majority grouped up to squash this idea of individualism.

Despite the Corps being steered in directions by VP of Student of Activities, the units have not changed too many names. We now see older outfit designations being re-activated.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
My wife asked a random question the other day and from out of nowhere I answered, "what's it to you, snake?" She asked, "what did you say?" I hadn't thought of the term in decades and laughed when she asked about it.

I remember the term from the 80's. There was one particular outfit where fish did not have to do their hump it when asked about what outfit they were in - they only had to say, "what's it to you, snake?". I have no idea what it means or where it came from. I couldn't remember the outfit but from this thread it apparently was from F2.

I googled the term and found this link. Can anyone share the history and meaning of this line?

F-2 Fox Company "What's it to you, snake?"

When my dad '49 was at A&M for his brief time there, he was in C CO INF. Met another old Ag who asked him what his outfit was, and on hearing "C CO", responded "Bloody C?" Dad just nodded.

One of the many stories I wish I had pursued.

Maroon Band and (the vastly superior) White Band did not have individual outfit identities, that is to say, humpits and nicknames. Same for the A and B Company and A & B Battery when we split into 4 outfits in the fall of 1976. Don't know when they named themselves.

I think our attitude was that we were collectively The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, and further distinction was not needed.

If anyone didn't know, before Maroon and White, when everyone was Army ROTC and you had to pick a branch, the respective bands were known as Artillery Band and Infantry Band.

Which is why you'll see some photos of us in pull-out brass of crossed rifles or cannons behind a Band Lyre.

There were no individual outfit hump-its in the band in the 80's. B Company had the "streetfighters" nickname, but that was it.

We were the Fightin Texas Aggie Band, period.
