Apologies if this has already been discussed, but has there been a consensus reached regarding which gameweek fish will be wearing their spurs this fall? I know originally it was done for the SMU game, then switched to Texas Tech in the Big 12 era, but I hadn't heard about what they'll be doing in the SEC.

Don't agree with EGA on much, but do on this one. A tradition that makes a fish look like (more of a) doofus off the Quad is not one to cherish.

Better yet, only require wearin' a uniform when they go to Bull Text class or have an occasional parade (Sam Houston R.O.T.C. here we come).

Exactly, canyon. I guess building the spurs creates bonding time for the fish, but I can remember being completely embarrassed having to walk around campus with those things for a week. I should have just 'lost them' and taken a smoking instead.

I had no issue with wearing spurs. It was a boof more than an embarrassment for me, because mine kept breaking.

In my opinion there are bigger issues that need fixing when it comes to making fish less socially awkward and doofus looking off the quad. Tucking shirts into jeans with running shoes and tube socks doesn't help. And then so many fish lose weight and have their polos pretty much hanging off of them. The socially awkward part, or acting like they're whipping out to a manikin in the mall... upperclassmen just need to fix that.

pshh, keep the fish spurs. and anything else ridiculous that contributes to the awkwardness of being a fish. plenty of us went through it and turned out fine.
