Thanks for sharing Rusty, incredible stuff. I didn't even realize that any vets were still alive from WWI...111 years old...that's incredible.

And I just realized that the "thumbs up" doesn't really fit here...I was thinking more "thanks for sharing" as opposed to the moment as a whole.

Go talk to a WWII vet if you know one. Get a first hand history lesson. There aren't many WWII vets left

I do every time I get the chance, so very proud of them!

I remember a few years back when I was a Youth Minister intern at a church of Christ in Dallas. We took our kids on trip called Trek to the Rocky Mountains for a 7-day hike. Incredibly spiritual and uplifting.

Anyways, on our way back to Dallas we stopped in a McDonald's for breakfast somewhere in Colorado. There were about 10-12 elderly folks all with World War II veteran hats on. I had all of our kids go thank them with me and told them that you may never have the opportunity to do that again.

Looking at those vets is looking at pure American history and starring the patriotic spirit right in the eye.

It's humbling, to say the least!

My wife had seen this but I had not. Thanks for the Link, Rusty. Amazing that her service was unrecognized for so long. It is nice to see every part of The Rose recognized.
