ONCE there were Army Coastal Artillery units in the Texas A&M College - Corps of Cadets.

Type in search engine: Harbour Defense of Galveston.

Fort Travis concrete remains - (from Galveston take ferry to Bolivar Peninsular) - still a fairly interesting historical structure to visit.

as a kid in HS we would go down into the Fort Crockett bunkers. Dark, dank and scary.
