I am attempting to find a patriotic tobacco store/company that would like to donate Copenhagen snuff for the SEALs in Afghanistan.

Maybe you should try to find something else to donate. Most people do not dip. If you were to send something that everyone could enjoy, I think it would be much more appreciated. Don't get me wrong, I know you're just trying to help. But there is nothing nastier than the sight/sound/smell of a guy dipping. And providing free dip would only encourage people to pick up the nasty habit... and be stuck with it forever.

This is a request direct from the Teams. They do crazy work in crappy conditions so I'm not going to judge what they want.

I'm not at all excited about a guy dipping but if these SEALs want that for Christmas, I'm not going to argue.

In my experience, most of those in the military do dip. Especially, in the combat arms.

This sounds like a great gift, something that they actually use every day.

I can't think of anything that would be appreciated more than Cope/Skoal from the US. The stuff they sell in the PXs is terrible. I'd be happy to donate, too.

Ram, in my experience in the military, dippers are a definite minority. Even among combat arms, i would say less than a quarter dip. Maybe enlisted guys do it more, i don't know. I still think it's a bad idea. But hey, his heart is in the right place.

Calm down bro! If he wants to send dip, by all means, he should do it. I'm just saying that sending something that could be enjoyed by everyone, not just a minority might be better. And I've seen oral cancer first hand... Yuck! That's some nasty stuff.

I would love to donate cash or a few cans myself. My favorite care package I got while I was deployed included 20 cans of Copenhagen from the states courtesy of my wife. My buddies in my platoon all LOVED it.

Service members get many things sent to them. All are most likely appreciated.

However, a can of dip gives them some comfort like a cold beer on a hot day or a clean tee shirt and skivvies. However the comfort lasts longer!

I never dipped or chewed until I went into Marine infantry. Long nights, little sleep, no way to make coffee... dip was one of the few things we could use to keep us awake.

Might not be a good idea in the long run, but when its 0 dark thirty and you are struggling to stay awake, its a damn good idea.

It's not Cope, but the company Altadis USA has a program called Cigars for Troops. I wrote them when I was in Iraq, and they sent me a metric crap-ton of cigars. Most were phillies and cheapos, but they sent some pretty good ones too. Just send them a message at the following link:

I was promised by a friend that he would mail a package every month with three logs. This did not happen, and I was sad. Luckily, I found a way to get my hands on some Copenhagen.

Copenhagen in country is like blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream after bbq in the states. It gives you something to look forward to after your spicy penne pasta MRE.

I think its a billiant idea. Like what was said before, I never dipped until I joined the Navy. LOONNNGGG lines to smoke in a 25 person smoke room on an aircraft carrier with prob about 3500 smokers, no way, waste of time and waste of man hours. So I picked up dipping. I would have loved for people to send me logs. Although I did find the one website that shipped tabacoo USPS. Not to mention when you're out to sea for so long and people start running out of dip, some are willing to pay upwards of $25 for A CAN.

it's VERY popular within NSW.

May I suggest that you don't purchase in Texas? You'll save probably $2 a can buying it somewhere else...much more bang for your buck. I'm gonna be back in Texas next Tuesday through the New Year or I'd take care of it for you, but other states have much smaller taxes on tobacco.
(Granted it wouldn't be worth you leaving the state yourself to do it, but if you have someone somewhere else handy and willing to help it might be advantageous.)

the rate I'm going I probably won't send till after Christmas, so if anyone out of state will be coming into TX and might have found donors somewhere....I would gladly meet you somewhere.
