Very interesting. I'm up in RC-N right now where this all got kicked off. I fly over some places that were in the news back then....Kunduz, Mazar-i-Sharif, etc. It is interesting that 10 years later we are working hand in hand with the Germans up here keeping insurgents at bay (after so many years away...for the most part following the initial invasion).

The other day, I flew over the fortress where the 'rebellion' took place by Mazar. Mike Spann was killed there, and one of these days I'll take a picture of the memorial if I can zoom in close enough.
