October 15, 2001, 0835, assembled out on Simpson Drill Field 771 former Texas A&M Cadets will March-In to Kyle Field.

For some, The Last March-In.

"It's just another March-In boys,
We'll march-in...behind...the band..."

I hope no one has a heart attack like in 1994 when the Former Student Aggie Band marched at halftime

If so, we all must sign waivers to absolve Texas A&M from any liability.

You do that when you check in, BeBop.

So you mean I can't sue A&M if the block leader makes me hold the stick at present arms for the entire pass in review again and I upset my delicate shoulder muscles???

with the dramatic change in the time that the game starts, I wonder if all 771 will actually be there.
As former CT & BQs remember, March-ins are about 1 hour before kick-off.....
I first call is almost 3 hours before.

Simpson Review - standing in sun & heat, No Water.
March-In to Joe Routt, then standing in sun & heat, No Water.

Some ol Ags in 40/50/60 blocs did flaked out, (which was quite understandable).

From Simpson to Kyle entrance ol' Ags should have been allowed to carry disposable water bottles.

(Around the track at Kyle - O.K., NO water bottles allowed !)

If a pistol belt and canteen could be issued to all members and then collected after the march in, a lot of problems could be minimized. Maybe get a credit card number to make sure it is returned.

March-In Bop also got ah little woozy.

During first part of review on Simpson jest broke ranks and walked over behind reviewing stand where ah huge cooler and iced-down water bottles were located. Asked ah fellow sitting nearby if bottles were for sale. He replyed, "Don't know."
Bop retrieved couple of bottles. Took 'em back to share with 60's bloc guys in semi-trouble.

O.K., so ol'Bop gone and stole some VIP water. So ? So what ?

An old Ag did pass away at Simpson Drill Field just prior to the start on Oct. 15. Personnel tried to revive him. It was just his time. Up till about the start of the game, the temperature
was just about perfect. I was a Block Leader for the '74 Block. I haven't seen that story in the news.

The "old Ag," who walked across the A&M campus and into the arms of Jesus on the O.R. Simpson Drill Field, was Darrell Brown, class of 57, one of the "Junction Boys." He has a grandson, class of 13, attending TAMU.

I was there. Wondered what happened to the guy who got EMSd off. There are worse ways to punch out. RIP.

One of the best punch outs ever. He was among his beloved friends and University when he passed. Thanks for the specifics on that, a lot of us were wondering. Hard to find a better place than Aggieland, but Mr. Brown is there now.
