Give Marcus Zarosky a try with Texas Farm Bureau. He is a good Ag.

He offices out of Fayette County, but he handles everything for us.

I would avoid the name brand agents like State Farm, Farmers, AllState etc. Obviously there are some good ones. However, very belatedly I learned that an independent agent knows the market, understands all the options and has a better handle on a company's customer service reputation. Call a good Ag, Jerry Boles at 210-366-5094 or 210-366-9549. He handles mine. When we have had to move coverage he has always placed me with a good company.

Be sure and look over everything and not just the premium. Every company sells a different policy. What each policy covers varies greatly from company to company. Here is a website that helps compare: Homeowners Insurance Comparison - Office of Public Insurance Counsel

Keep an eye on personal property limits and deductibles. Those vary greatly as well and does affect premium. I would ask how a certain company is handling damage to roofs. Many companies are no longer paying replacement cost on roofs after a certain age. And if you have a metal roof, be sure to get a clear picture on how the policy handles hail damage to the metal roofs.

If you really want to dive into research, the Texas Department of Insurance keeps track of justified complaints they receive on each insurance company in Texas. No insurance company is perfect but you get an idea of the number of complaints received by each company per policy. The lower the score the better (fewer complaints). Complaint indexes and policy counts for insurance companies | Open Data Portal In the search bar that says "Find in this Dataset" type in the insurance company and hit enter.

It is best to be as informed as possible as not all policies nor companies are the same.

When we moved in to our house in Spring Branch in 2015 our HO's was $1,300.00 per year. I renewed this year for $4,950.00. One hail damage claim in 2022 and that's the cheapest off brand company we could find.

Crooks.

What was the insured value of the house on your 2015 policy vs the insured value in 2024? Minor detail left out that is important to the overall statement.
