Going to the Comal River with family for the first time in 20 years. The can ban obviously was not in effect during the last trip. What's the best way to bring your beverages now with the can ban?

A large personal cooler/thermos.
anything non disposable. Pony keg and yeti's if you have alot of people.

Yeah, I wouldn't even take the chance knowing we would pass through at the wrong time. Not worth the ticket.

Don't risk it the can gestapo doing what the can to make a private river for the rich people that moved in along the river.
You mean cleaning up the trash that drives in from SA, Seguin, and SM to party on the river and use it as their trash can.

Yeah the can ban didn't do anything to curb the dregs of society out on the river this week.

Compare the horseshoe in Sattler to the Comal in town. Then get back to me.
Can ban (and the city charging for a wrist band, and $20 to park at Prince Solms) wasn't a catch all, but it made a significant change to the river in town.
Not saying I'd take my young kids, bc I won't. But it's wayyyy different than the guad outside of town.

By the way, for anyone interested, I would strongly recommend the River Run Condos as a place to stay. They are about 600 yds north of the chute and Texas Tubes and Landa River Tubes are both right next door.

Having taken the family to some local river spots in the past to clean up trash on a Monday morning (kids needed service hours), I'll take anything the city can do to prevent littering. It's unreal how trashy people can be.
I feel like pretty much anywhere you go society is just trashy now. You really have to price out trashy people, and the river is free.JYDog90 said:TikkaShooter said:

We're staying at Comal River Cottages (https://www.comalrivercottages.com/) which is just on the other side (downstream) of Texas Tubes. We have the separated cottage for also $600/night.
i was on teh river on saturday and tool a HydroFlask of a mixed drink and i found out on accident that the HydroFlask bottles float!
