We're coming down from Austin for the day on Saturday to take the kids to the zoo and eat dinner on the Riverwalk and look at Christmas lights. Can y'all recommend any restaurants? It's been a while since we've been down there. Kids are 6 and 8 and do great at restaurants if that makes any difference. Thanks.

Ha I haven't been to one of those since high school but I bet the kids would like it.

Check out the lights at the Pearl. They have a huge Christmas tree with an area around it for kids to run around and you can take a walk on the river from there. There are plenty of good places to eat and you will avoid the crowds on the "original" part of the river walk. It's also just down the street from the Zoo. If you're set on eating and seeing the downtown part of the river walk then could hit up Rainforest Cafe (food sucks but the kids will probably like it) . Bubba Gumps or Boudro's would also be good. It's going to probably be too cold to sit outside so walking along the river before and after dinner is likely your only option.

Know it's after the fact but, for future reference, Boudro's is good, as is Iron Cactus. Esquire Tavern is more adult, but also great.
