Plenty of farmers along FM 78 between Cibolo and Seguin lease out land along with some down near Castroville. The first few weeks are busy and then the crowds die down.

Yes, they are, and I speak from experience. I've been on a dove lease for about 15 years. It's about 5 miles south of 10 at the Marion exit.

We have a few birds early then the well runs dry pretty quick. But for $125 for the season, it's not a bad deal.

Stick with these lease guys until late in the season.

Dove season follows a predictable pattern.

Opening weekend- birds
Following weekends - birds scattered and shot out.
Late season - Everyone deer hunts, but front bring in northern birds.

Late season dove shoots are the best.

Not here. Although the one in Hays county is the most promising one as there's a pond and decent cover around.

Years ago I used to hunt the TPWD public lands up near New Braunfels. Only saw a few birds every time I went out.

Hunted the opener this evening. Checked the odometer, the lease is 3 miles south of 10.

Nine shots, three birds.

At least the beer was cold.

I know I'm a little late for this season but in the past I have gotten a lease with Winged Republic. They have leases all over the place and once you sign up with them you can go to their website and reserve any of the property they lease. It's a really cool deal.
