My kids got invited to a birthday party at this place. Good thing we got in for free because I would have felt really ripped off if I paid to get in.

  • Parking sucks.
  • Exhibits are weak
  • Crowd control is non-existant
  • And if you have little kids they are going to want to pay an extra $9 to go in the bouncy castle room rather than look at the birds and fish.

I have no desire to visit that place. It's in a nasty-ass location and given its size, I never figured it would have anything great to see. Sorry it sucked for you guys

I agree with OP's assessment.
I won a family membership from somewhere. I am so glad I didn't have to pay to go to this place.

Was semi-intrigued when I heard about it but don't get over that way much anymore. Semi-intrigued sort of like a train wreck kind of way, it did have the Puro San Antonio reek to it, glad to see we hit it out of the park.

There was a certain portion of the crowd that was "Puro San Anto", but the high cost of admission helps keep a lot of the riffraff out. For me it was more of the "sea of humanity wandering aimlessly" vibe. In that light there is not a lot of difference in Ft. Sam WalMart at 10 PM and Lincoln Heights HEB on Sunday afternoon... and now the San Antonio Aquarium.

On a brighter note, if you are looking for fun things to do with your kids, check out the texas transportation museum behind the airport. My kids love it. Staffed by volunteers that care.

Vince Covino said the investigation by the Oregon Humane Society, which helps enforce state animal cruelty laws, is based on a "fraudulent death log."

He said he proactively reached out to the agency last year but has not received a response. "We have reached out to the Oregon Humane Society several times to work with them and they refuse to answer our calls," said Alui Cleaver, cheif operating officer for the aquarium group.

"The report of the dead fish includes a log showing a snail dying of 'congestive heart failure' and another fish dying of 'depression.' It lists feeder fish that are, of course, intended to be food just as they are in the ocean," Vince Covino wrote in the email. "We do not employ a cardiologist nor a psychiatrist, nor do snails have hearts." You can read the entire log here.

We went a couple of years ago. Cool place and a great price with lots of friendly volunteers, but I felt like we pretty much saw everything in about 2 hours. The garden scale layout looked pretty neglected too.

You are right. I should have prefaced that my kids are young. Preschool variety so they don't mind the repetition and laid back feel. They love climbing on stuff and seeing trains. Their Christmas themed weekends were fun.
