I'm tearing down a fence in preparation to rebuild it. The old pickets will be hauled off to the dump (about 150 feet of 1x6"x6' pickets, so approx 300 boards altogether) unless anyone wants them. They're 99% nail free (all nails pulled except the ones that are bent completely over and thus too hard to pull out). Take as much or as little as you like.

I used to have a friend that did arts and crafts and she'd use old fence pickets to make rustic looking signs, but unfortunately, she has passed away. (I still cherish the one she made for me that says "No working during drinking hours." )

Anyway, anyone that has any use for some weathered boards (some are slightly rotted at the bottom) let me know soon and they're yours. I'll even help u load them, if i'm around.

where is this located? i'm interested.

If they hang around too long, I will come get them. I don't want to take any if someone else wants them though because I will be using them for fireplace kindling.

some were taken today, there are plenty left (some surely passed over because they're split/broken/warped/whatever). I'm doing this in 2 phases, and there will be more boards available in phase 2, so don't hesitate to come by. If you really worry about making someone miss out, we can sort out the "best" boards and you can take all others.

Anyone who takes boards is doing me a huge favor, because it's less I'll have to haul off, eventually.

You would be amazed at the response you would get if you posted this on the craig's list "free" board. I did the same thing with my old fence wood and there was a line of trucks within literally minutes of posting it.

So, that's another option for you.

i actually had that thought first, but at the last minute it dawned on me that some good Ags might want first shot at them.

There are lots (~175) left, and more to come down (another 150 or so) later.

I'll definitely use CL once the demand here dies down.

I believe I replied to everyone on this thread. Plenty still available. They're not in my way, per se (I have them stacked/leaning up against trees) but my next step is a craig's list ad. Just want to make sure you guys have all you want before I do that.

oh, and they're 1x4" pickets, not 1x6", if it makes any difference to anyone.
