Hard to answer without know what part or at least which highschool boundaries in Comal ISD you are looking at living in.

Canyon HS vs. NBHS?

She's likely asking about elementary schools and possibly from a teaching standpoint across middle schools.

We will likely rent for a year or two, so we can position ourselves to be in the right district.

I am biased but NBISD is where my kids will go. Wife teaches at ms level along with lots of friends and have friends at elementary level and hs school. Dont have any friends that work in comal But I don't think you can go wrong with either

I've always heard Comal is better than NB but these were just opinions. We are in comal, but I've heard awful awful things about the new superintendent and that has me scared. He screwed up Manor ISD and is now here.

I was CISD from kindergarden through high school so I'm biased as well. But while I was there, I did know a lot of people who moved into that district just so their kids could go to those schools.

As stated above, I really don't think you can go wrong with either one. Great town.
