Daycare options on NE side/NB area

I'm working a job offer that would require relocation from the College Station area to New Braunfels. One of the major factors in my decision is finding reputable daycare for my two kids (24mo and 7mo) that won't break the bank, as I'd likely be paying rent and a mortgage until my current home sells.

I'd prefer an in-home type of setup with a SAHM who is looking to pick up some extra income, but am open to options if you know of a really good one.

Thanks for any help - while everything has to fall into place for this new job opportunity to work out, the possibility is real and, on my list, making sure my kids are taken care of while my wife and I work is #1.

Our kiddos are at First Protestant. Its obviously not a SAHM but its been really nice to have the kids there. It is clean, and my daughter has learned alot.

Fido...what do you do with them during the summer? I guess if they are school age you can keep them in the summer program but under that and I am looking for other options for the summer (on waiting list for fall now.) Because of this We may get forced in to using another daycare.

I'm not sure I understand the question. We have two kiddos, 4 y/o and 5 month old, and they are able to go year round. My wife is a teacher, so during the summer we have them at FPS only half time to allow us to run errands and stuff.

Thanks, fido. That'd be a good option, too. Were I to stay in Nav, I'd put them in a little church school/daycare down the road from me.

My biggest thing is that, when really young, it's hard for kids to tell you that something is wrong. Are they being stuck in front of a tv all day? Given proper food and drink? Mistreated? Stuff like that. It's not as big of a deal when they're 3+, but the "little" littles can't properly express displeasure.

fido,

Mind e-mailing me? E-mail is in profile. Just wanted to clarify the summer thing...it says on their website they only have a school aged program during the summer. If that isn't the case, I'm done looking!

Any other opinions? Considering a possible relo for work near 1604 and 281. Primrose or any other 'reputable' places? Cost not really a concern. We're just focused on safety and development. Not babysitting environments.

Thanks

Another vote for First Protestant. Our kids are older now (6th and 2nd grade) but we loved First Protestant when we used them several years ago.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Be sure to check the dfps site to read their inspection reports wherever you consider going. If it is an in-home, please make sure they are licensed, if not at least registered with the state.
