Is getting an ETL / UL light fixture critically important?

Found this one, KAWOTI Nolan 13-in 2-Light Matte Black Transitional Vanity Light 21280 at Lowes.com

Lowe's says it's ETL listed, found a generic listing for that brand from a Chinese company alongside Lowe's in-house allen+roth brand, there are thousands of these things and it is hard to track down whether they are ETL listed or not.

Any hacks here? Where to look? How to filter them out? Partial to Amazon and Home Depot

I would say it's not critically important until the non-listed light burns your house down. Then your insurance may take exception, but maybe not.

Are you trying to find a cheaper version of the light you linked? Or what exactly is the problem you're trying to solve?

Happy enough with this option. Annoyed at having to wade through a multitude of options. Moved into a new house and have a bunch of nasty old lights I want to change out. I have yet to find a filter which weeds out the Chinese unlicensed junk.

If it is ETL listed it is supposed to have been tested by an independent lab meeting nationally recognized testing lab (NRTL) standards and NOT just manufacturer tested. Most of the independent lab recognized as NRT Labs use the UL testing standards or better.

However; I've seen equipment shipped into the US from asia with counterfit ETL, UL or CSA listing marks once in a great while.

Yes I've confirmed via the ETL listing database for the one I linked above
