Howdy, had some emergency plumbing work done to fix an issue. How do I make this look better? Not sure why a heat shield was not used. The cut panel is not fastened down.

I would just trim over the cuts with 1x4 trim pieces of the same material as the siding. Then caulk those seams. Then you have access if you ever need it again.

Sounds like a good idea. Not sure I have any of the original siding around. Probably could do some small cut board pieces though. Thoughts on that?

That's fine. Just make sure to paint them.

They sell trim pieces at Home Depot/lowes. Pre made into 1x4 trim.

Is that outside? If so, I'm questioning why they didn't use a frost free hose bib

Interesting note. This bib was just a replacement for a galvanized elbow/pipe extension that was previously there. Never have had frost issues in the 6 winters of being here and that copper has always extended out of the wall like that.
