Is there a way to confidently know if this valve is open or closed? Is there a universal standard?

That's closed. Looks like a wall blocking flow. Other way it's in line with pipe, not blocking flow. Be careful which way you turn it, it'll only turn one way 90*

Closed.

When it's perpendicular it's closed. When it's parallel, it's open.

If you buy valves on Temu, I can't guarantee that will be true.

Thank you that's what I've always thought but ChatGPT told me the opposite. I trust y'all more than it and it just makes sense from a visual standpoint as far as flow
