Any experience? Would like to monitor usage at a house I just moved into. Previous house was 1800sq ft with a 3-ton. new house is 5 tons of A/C across 2 units + a pool so I'd like to optimize and monitor it all. At $150 it seems like an easy DIY for some good data. Longer term I want a portable genny and the data from this would help me understand peak power surges.

Have it, installed it for similar usage while integrating the 50A intertie for backup inverter. Very easy installation, app has worked flawlessly.

Very simple concept, hook up the 50A monitors so you see everything coming in, then monitor specific circuits you want, remainder of the 100% total is the residual. Can even see AC hard start ramp rate difference, starting washer, etc.

DIY with home assistant. Pretty simple

Got the Emporia system installed in about an hour over the weekend. 10/10 recommend. Shows my peak power draw is low enough that I can run the house on a portable generator, even with a 2-ton, a 3-ton and a 2.5hp pool pump and pool cleaner.
