I need to replace my cleaner. I have a small pool so I hate spending $600 on a new Polaris. Has anyone tried the off brand one from Amazon? I'd love to save $2-300 if possible.

Rehab kits are about $120. Do that once. A few years after the rehab, it will have problems again. Throw it in the trash at that time and get a robotic cleaner.

I thought about that too. Not a bad first option.

Thanks,

Rebuild kits until the booster pump gives out, then get a cordless robot.

If you have a small pool, a cordless robot should work. I have a big old school diving board pool with a 10 foot deep end. I tried a cordless robot and it had difficulty climbing the walls and up to the shallow end. I got the corded model of the same robot and it works perfectly. I still love the corded robot much much better than the Polaris.

Interesting, one of my clients has a 16x38 that's 7' deep and has no issues with his Polaris freedom.
