Anyone in the Katy area have or have access to a log splitter? I have a bunch of oak small rounds that are cut to length, but not split and would take a year-plus to be burn ready. I've tried the wedge and sledge, to no avail and don't want to resort to a maul on the grass and cut something I don't want to.

I have one in Conroe… not sure if that does much for you but it's available. You're welcome to split here if you don't want to make the drive twice.

Equipment rental places usually have them. I know Redtaul in CS does. I am sure there is a place in Katy that has one for rent.
