My reverse osmosis water filter under my sink sprung a leak at this little plastic connector the other day (photo below). Appears to just be an inline connection between two pieces of polyethylene/rubber tubing. Anybody know how to properly remove this and replace it, and where I can find a replacement piece?

It's a Kinetico system, and they won't sell me the piece. They insist I must pay $300 to have this fixed, which I guess I will do if I can't fix it myself. Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks like a 1/4" to 3/8" tubing adapter to me, but I'm just eyeballing it. May be a different size. Here's one at HD (Link - shows in stock at my local store. They also carry at Lowe's).

These connectors can be removed as show in this video (Link). I don't think the locking clips are necessary, personally.

Definitely want to make sure the ends of the tubing are clean/straight. That could be why it is leaking. Could also not be seated fully and just needs to be pushed back into the fitting. Worth trying before you swap it out.

Thanks, man! Thats exactly what I needed. Just wasn't sure what the part was called or if it was something commonly available.

You bet! $300 is highway robbery for that repair.
