After your tip on the FB Marketplace R-22, I've been thinking of going that route, but was concerned that the dude would know I have a few $$$ cash in my back pocket and just take that instead. ;-)

Just for 'legality' sake for anyone who might care -- yes, I'm EPA Certified.

There are some stores in Houston that sell it for about $360-$400 per jug of you look on FB marketplace if you need it sooner or are in Houston. Usually in the harwin area iirc.

I've got some time if you don't end up selling it local to you. I've got a 30lb with about 2lbs gone but it looks like I've got a coil to replace in the next month. So, I'm just buying for inventory.

Luckily the weather has cooled down, otherwise my wife never would afford me the time to do the job myself at my leisure on weekends.

She'd be calling brand 'X' who'd tell her that R-22 is 'OUTLAWED' and to 'sign on the dotted line for a new $17K system.' You know, the kind with the paper thin evaporator coils running at high pressure that will fail in 5 years.

I just replaced a system at a rental because it was leaking and I don't want to keep dealing with it and wanted to replace it before 410 is phased out this January.

Oh and when I was calling around about some stuff I definitely ran in to several companies who told me all kinds of BS about 22.
