A/C fan starts to work and then shuts down

My outside unit turns on for a few seconds and then shuts down. Two days before, I came home and the system wasn't running. I flipped the breaker and it started right up. So I replaced the breaker last night after the fan wouldn't stay on.

Any ideas? The filter was replaced at the beginning of the month.

This system has been nothing but trouble and a TexAgs highly recommended company hasn't been much help in fixing it. This is the second issue we've had with it and it's only about 3 years old.

when you adjust the thermostat lower do you hear any "click" like it is turning on? If so and you go outside and the fan is not spinning it probably the capacitor or fan motor

Is your drip line clogged and float switch killing it?

Sure hope it's not us! If it is, I'm unaware of it and will get it solved. Unfortunately sometimes trying to not be a salesman will bite you with an intermittent or multiple issue service call. We've had calls where we found "the" issue only to find out three days later it develops another issue that did not exist three days earlier. It's embarrassing sometimes but it happens. No company is perfect and machinery loves to humble a skilled technician. If it is us please reach out in the morning via text and if it's not us give us a call if you'd like a fresh set of eyes.

exactly my thoughts.....

the AC is short cycling. You might have either an external or internal float switch. I had this exact same problem beginning of summer and I couldn't figure it out to save my life because the drain pan was dry as a bone. I used my Milwaukee air snake and blew into the line just to make sure it wasn't something I couldn't see....and next thing you know.....it started working again. I'd check all the drain lines again.

It was a faulty capacitor, which I should have had an extra on hand to replace but I didn't.
