I'm curious if anyone has found an easy means of sizing my home and shop for a stand by generator. So how many watts and surge watts required to run everything. Is this basically completed by me walking my house and documenting watts and surge for all my appliances/AC, etc? Any help on making this easy and accurate would be appreciated. Thank you.
your biggest obstacle will probably be the start up current on your central AC. However, you can add a soft start to is and substantially lower your start up current. I have a westinghouse 11500 that I ran on natural gas during Beryl and ran my downstairs 4 ton AC, all the lights, internet/computers/tvs and we were able to cook in my all electric kitchen like normal....especially the coffee pot LOL.
