I'd like to replace my current crappy LED strip lights with some real undercabinet light fixtures. I'll have an electrician install so not looking to jury rig anything here.

Does this get plugged into an outlet tied to a switch or is it wired into the electrical circuit directly?

You can do it either way. We wired into a dimmer switch.
