I have confirmed this is my issue. Do I have to replace the entire softener valve assembly or is there a way to fix the drain line issue?

I think some model info or a pic might help.

Pretty sure my softener would need the unit replaced since it's all integrated.

Likely going to have to replace the assembly. Maybe you're lucky and you're within the warranty period of the valve assembly.

It's 4.5 years old and I don't think I even have paperwork. Looks like I'll be doing some online shopping.

Roger with DFW Water Softeners took care of the issue. Replaced Clack seal and spacer assembly for around $200 and we are good.
