Outdoor A/C Pad Height

I had another inspection done on my new house since I'm nearing the end of the one year part of the warranty. The inspector noted that my A/C unit pad was not at least 3 inches above the ground which is the code. You can see what it looks like in the pic below. I have maybe 1 to 1.5 inches of height above the ground, and the grading slopes away for the most part on all sides.

I'm wondering if this really needs to be addressed since I think it would mean being without an A/C for a few days for a taller pad to be poured/installed. This isn't an option for me in the heat of the summer.

Sounds like bs to me as long as the area doesn't frequently flood. Just keep the unit clean around the bottom and should be good to go.

I assume that the builder would be responsible for raising the pad? Could you raise the issue with the builder now but ask them if they could schedule the work later in the year without waiving your warranty rights?

They have preformed pads they can place on top of your concrete pad You won't be without AC for that long.

Yes, the builder would need to work with the A/C contractor to get it done. I have a two year warranty on major systems like the A/C. I'm just thinking they'll probably mess up something else in the process of fixing this, so I'm trying to determine how much of an issue this could be.

Ok that's good to know, but are they just those plastic ones? I'd be worried about it failing.

I assume that means they have to cut the refrigerant lines and reconnect/recharge them though since they are rigid? Really worried about them messing up that part.

The pads will not fail. You will not have to cut the lines. If you are careful enough, you can slide the pad underneath while gently raising the unit. Just do not raise the unit from the front (side furthest from wall).

I hope so. I have the A/C contractor coming out next week for some other issues noted by the inspector, so I will ask them what their fix would be for the pad.
