Currently running a 30 plus year old upright Craftsman 25gal, looking to upgrade to something quieter that you can't hear from across the city. I use for airing tires, impact tools, 50A plasma which needs lots of air and nail gun for projects. Any recs?

You usually get what you pay for with air compressors - so really depends on budget and how big you want. I bought for life with a 80g 5hp Saylor-Beall. If you can step up to a disc valve compressor (vs reed valves) those are definitely worth it - quieter, more efficient, and less likely to break. Same with a compressor that takes oil instead of self-lube (assuming you maintain it). When comparing check the cfm vs rpm. Given the same cfm the lower rpm one will be better and quieter.

I've had mine for about two years with no issues. Quieter than most compressors. It keeps up with my plasma cutter just fine. The auto drain feature is nice. Time will tell if this was a good purchase or not.

I have a smaller compressor made by the same company that has been running for the last ten years without fail (knock on wood). I've run the snot out of it.

Both compressors are used for side-hustle purposes. If I was using them full-time, like in an actual business, I would have probably splurged for something larger.

I know some people build some kind of noise abatement enclosures. I wonder how they manage the heat and airflow, but I considered it at one point. May be an option to look into.

I built a lean-to next to my garage, put the air compressor over there, and then plumbed it through the wall. It's fantastic having it out of the garage for noise.

Anyone have any feedback with the DeWalt 30 gallon air compressor. Looks to be about the largest one on wheels. My old Home Depot brand is finally crapping out and I wanted to get something a little better. They sell these at Tractor Supply.
