Clogged Drain Question

Our AC unit's drain lines are tied into each of the 2 upstairs bathroom sinks, and the one that is giving us trouble is a dual vanity. I tried running a snake through it last night, but it just came out of the other sink's drain. I tried multiple times but can't get the snake to go down the main line.

I tried everything last night from plunging one sink (stopper down on the other) to try to unclog it, to sucking out everything via a shop vac, but to no avail. I'm thinking my only hope is to run a snake down from the exhaust vent out of the roof, which is easily accessible due to the sink being on an exterior wall. When I went out to look this morning, there's a clean out as well down near the foundation. Would it be better to open that and run the snake up into that or to do it from above?

There should be a connection where the drain pipe enters the wall. Remove that and run the snake.

edit: the exterior clean out might be the easiest option.

Is the trap glued in or can you unscrew it, disassemble and go straight into the outlet pipe? I like working in AC, so I'd try that before the vent pipe. Vent pipe should work though if the clog is after the drain line from the sink ties to the vertical section.

There is not in this bathroom. House was built in '97, so not sure if it was required by then.

Draino?
So...about that...After I vacuumed it a couple times to try to unclog it, I decide to pour some draino down the drain (enough so it goes past the P trap) and went to bed. When I was about to walk out to put the ladder up to snake down from the roof, I went upstairs to fill up the sinks so I could give the kids a job of yelling out of the window when they see the sinks start draining. Well, the water just ran and ran and ran and never filled up. I'm guessing whatever algae may have been in there was taken care of by the driano.

Now, onto addressing the AC failure that happened yesterday and the quotes I'm getting to replace that unit (original to the house). New thread to come.

Dump some AC lone probiotic down the line every few months to help prevent it from getting gunked up again.

I cannot tell you how many times my this Mikwaukee airsnake gun has saved me! I HIGHLY recommend getting one of these.

Your draino made cleared a path for you but it won't take long for it to clog up again. When it does clog up....hit it with this air snake and it will blow the entire clog through in one big chunk and really open up that pipe.
