Considering some LVP to replace 20yo Pergo flooring. High traffic entryway and 2 living areas but no wet rooms.

What are to the pros cons of LVP? Floating vs glue?

We are about to put lvp down, so can let you know in 2-3 weeks.

Have you thought of the wood-like tile? I considered LVP vs wood-like tile when redoing my house. I'm glad I went with the wood-like tile.

We have done the wood look tile in 2 bathroom renovations. It has been great, however we're looking at nearly 1000sqft to replace here and the thought of cost and time of tile install was thinking LVP. Especially considering a known slope/crack in a hallway from previous foundation shift that a floating floor could maybe deal with better.

We just did our basement with LVT. Great material. Also have it in the office. In both cases they were glued onto concrete floor. The floor movement affects. I would suggest floating since you will have a level floor. very tough and can take a beating. cleaning is easy

We installed LVP on stairs, bar and bath in the arcade. It's held up well.

We just had our guy install LVP from floor & decor on our stairs and the entire second floor. It looks great, so much better than carpet and the echos of little feet above still sound the same as if carpet was still around.

I put LVP in most of my house 3 years ago and I love it. Has held up great with two large dogs and I have no regrets! Provenza was the brand I used. Have gotten lots of complements.

My installation was floating. I don't know if you want to glue down LVP.

+1 here for floating LVP. Installed myself in 2020 and it's a great looking durable floor.

Make sure you get it leveled good and put down moisture barrier. Don't believe the install guy when he says the backing/pad whatever that is attached to the pieces of LVP is sufficient.

After 50 some off bags of leveling, our installer skipper the moisture barrier and ours is buckling all over after 3 years. Other than that, love the look and function of it across ~2400sf of living, dining, kitchen, laundry, half bath type areas. Manufacturer won't warranty because it was installed wrong. We'll end up redoing it all once we no longer have a dog or toddler.

Personally, I'd be cautious of installing on stairs. If you do, by extra pieces.

My sister installed LVP in their house. Loved it, but had some issues on the stairs, just didn't handle that abuse well. Eventually just had solid wood put in on the stairs and stained to match the rest of the LVP.

Yea if I were to have to use it on stairs I would for sure glue or go a different route for the stairs themselves. Would look weird I think anyways, unless you had great matching end covers and did a good job with wood on the vertical parts.
