Nearly 8 years ago we had a reputable local patio contractor attach a paver patio and walkway using the pavers and polymeric sand as shown in this photo. We're getting weeds in between pavers and want to clean them. Tons of conflicting info online as to best method to clean: powerwash vs NO power wash, clean all dirt AND all polymeric sand from joints using just hose sprayer and scraper, or use powerwasher on low to clean out joints. Then reapply polymeric sand after drying etc. BUT...if I "drill down" thru the seams between pavers, won't that loosen them and move them around? None of the pavers are shifting or moving now-- just have dirt and weeds popping up. Will this entire job be too messy and tedious for a 71-year-old guy to do, so throw in the towel and let a pro service do it?? What do y'all suggest?? Appreciate your comments.
