I have had a thermostat go out and replaced it with an Amazon Smart Thermostat. I don't like that the hysteresis is 0.5F. So, to maintain temperature, it is turning the heater off and on too frequently. The thermostat is located in a hallway near the air return. The old thermostat had a 2F hysteresis and worked fine.

I am looking for a smart wifi connecting thermostat that does not have this 0.5F turn on/turn off window. I saw where one of the site sponsors recommends Emerson. Has anyone had any luck with a decent smart thermostat?

As an owner of Nest thermostats, all I can say is don't buy Nest thermostats.

You should be able to adjust the Ecobee temperature sensitivity and like the others said, they have remote sensors as well. I have one of my thermostats that gets a bit drafty in the winter so I have it adjusted to be +2 degrees warmer than the actual before it comes on.

We've had an ecobee3 and remote sensors working like a champ for ~10 years. I don't see an option to set the dead band, but it has never shown the on off problem you described.

Tell me about the remote sensors. Is this part of zoning?
