I replaced my gas water heater a couple weeks ago with a new 40 Gal Rheem Performance. It has been working great. The TP relief valve is plumbed through an exterior wall and dumps out near a back door. A few days ago, I noticed a small amount of moisture on the concrete under the pipe, which dried up and hasn't reappeared. I checked the TP relief valve and it appears to be functioning correctly and is not leaking.
My question: I assume it operated as designed and opened briefly to relieve pressure inside the tank, but is this something I need to be worried about? Should I turn down the temp or is there anything else I should do? TIA
