Started using a new high wattage small appliance in my kitchen. After running for awhile, all of outlets on that GFCI circuit loses power. The GFCI itself didn't trip, the reset button didn't pop out. I can press the test button, and then it would pop out. This was the only thing in use on that circuit, though I test to see if there was power by running a can opener.

The outlets on a different set of GFCI protected outlets continue to have power, as well as the major appliances. The main circuit breaker didn't trip.

Power doesn't get immediately restored after pressing the test button, and pressing the reset button back in after it pops out.

However, after several minutes, everything comes back to life after resetting the outlet again.

I assume this is just a faulty GFCI outlet??

How old the house? Should have two small appliance branch circuits in kitchen, which is why one works when other doesn't.

Does the GFCI outlet work when your appliance outlet doesn't, or is it all dead? Intermittent working can often be a loose connection someplace.

Beforehand the only use this GFCI circuit gets is a can opener running for a few seconds. It's worked all the time, but that usage is far lower than now.

The other GFCI circuit gets used far, far more. That one very occasionally has to be reset when unplugging something, but essentially trouble free

Replace the GFCI.

It may also be a loose connection but I'd start at the GFCI since everything downstream gets hit.

My Amazon order arrived, plugged in a GFCI tester, and sure enough, it showed a fault, open neutral. The other GFCI circuit showed okay. So likely a flakey connection or flakey socket, either way, I'll replace it.

Finally gotten around to this. Connections looked fine. Swapped out the Leviton outlet with a little fancier Leviton and it all seems to work.

The line / load side was different between the two. Just a pain leaning over the counter tops and boxed in by a refrigerator on one side and cabinetry above.
