I'm building out a loft in a barn that we will use only on the weekends. I'd like a smoke detector that is connected to the internet that will send an alert to my phone if smoke is detected.

Anyone have any that you recommend? Ideally I would find one that works well and is reliable but one that I don't have to pay a monthly subscription fee for its use.

I've read about Google Nest but saw this article about Google no longer supporting Google Secure after April of this year. I don't know if the smoke alarm system is part of Nest Secure but I think it may be.

Here's the link to Google's announcement on Nest Secure….

I've not received notification. I think Nest Secure is their WiFi door locks only. Everything else goes through Nest/Nest Protect.

I have no experience with these but a wifi enabled listener could would with any detector.
