Anyone have experience with "other" animals using them to get in your home?

Never happened to me, installed a small doggy door 2 years ago for our 20 lb dog. Live in Boerne, so there's definitely animals around the neighborhood.

I had a neighbors dog get into our yard and then followed my worthless dog inside. They were both just chilling in the living room when I came in.

Never had any wild critters get in.

Have had one my entire life. Parents had one for our dogs growing up, and I have had them for all my dogs as well. We had a stray cat come inside one time after my mom fed it once, but that's it.

Never had another animal come in, but when we lived in town, a neighbor kid went to our backyard and crawled through our doggie door when we didn't answer the front door.

I have a Solo pet door which only opens when the sensor on your pet's collar gets close. Works pretty well. Prior to that, only a snake made it's way inside to the breakfast nook.

Yes, racoon.
Got into the flour canister on kitchen counter, threw flour around for a while. Enabled is to see little flour footprints into bathroom where got some water from commode. Had a little party.

The first night we were home we put the hard slider thing in to close the door and we hear this "WHAM" and I go look to see a slightly dazed racoon staggering down the stairs.

Also had a possum come in and make its way into the bedroom before the dogs woke up and cornered it in a nightstand by the bed.

This happened to us the first night we moved into a house that has one. Has a cover so it's fine now and I think our dog has been here long enough to leave his scent and no one try again.

Yep, Raccoon. We have a large greenbelt behind us so plenty of critters around and we have one going into the garage and then into the laundry room. One morning we woke up to a pretty messy laundry room where you could see muddy prints. Our little dog at the time was a free feeder so there was some dog food out that the raccoon cleaned out. I borrowed a trap from a neighbor and positioned it to catch him coming in but my daughter heard it (she was home from A&M over break) and he had by passed it so she moved some things around to block it some more.

Next night he got caught in the trap but my golf bag was close enough (that my daughter had used for blocking material) and he got his little grubby hands on the strap and did a number on it chewing through the trap. I wanted to stop it before he taught others his little trick, but that has been the only incident in 14 years.

We got visited by the same possum off and on for a few weeks one spring, he would just come in the house and hang out. Played dead when the dogs showed up, they get bored and go away and he we would go about his business. Usually after about 10 minutes of watching him I would pick him up and toss him over the back fence.

Yes one night as we were sleeping we started to hear some scratching on the wifes side of the bed. I got up, flipped on the light, put on my red wings, walked over and looked behind her nightstand and there it was. We assumed that it got in through the dog door at some point during the day or evening.

Did you happen to owe him $2.00 for 4 weeks of newspaper deliveries?

To answer OP, we had a doggy door for a couple years with no issues.

We only had our blue heeler bring in carcasses of everything she killed that dared to venture into her yard.

Forgot about that. Wife and daughter friended a cat that was abandoned by people that moved. Finally got him inside after about 6 months of living on his own. Stone cold killer, but most things (also mostly consumed except tails and guts) were laid on the mat in the garage outside the laundry door. He only brought in one live mouse and a live baby bunny.
