I've been one of those lucky people that signed a long term contract for 9 cents per Kwh and it just ran out.

I was looking today at powertochoose and I'm not sure what to go with.

I found 12.6 cents for a 1 year contract, 12.9 cents for a 3 year contract, and 11.4 cents on a 3 month contract. These prices were based on 2,000 Kwh usage which is below my average usage but I go below that in the three coldest months.

Will there be better prices in January? Should I take the 1 year or the 3 year contract?

I just don't know much about the energy market. The only reason I signed up for a 3 year deal at 9 cents was because I was tired of switching all the time.

It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation right now. Do those prices include TDU delivery charges if so that's good prices for right now. But not sure anybody really knows what's gonna happen with electricity prices over next 3,6,9 months and on

For a few bucks a month I let Thigbe choose for me.

I actually had a 3,something rate (not including delivery charges) for 3 months this year.

In.

I watch the natural gas prices, as there's some relation between those and electricity costs. But I'm not smart enough to do so consistently and there's not a perfect elastic relationship between the two.

I'm strongly considering Thigbe. $.004 per kWh is a nominal fee. At 2,000 kWh per month, that's an $8 charge to have them handle it for you.

Thigbe is 1000% worth it for the $5-$10 a month, much better than Energy Ogre.

Another Thigbe here
BUT
I've been too lazy to actually check the previous rates...I'm just flying on faith.

They will cancel a plan and pay the penalty if it makes sense to change to a different company

Multiple houses here on Thigbe as well. Plus they donate part of the fee i pay them each month to the charity i choose from their list.

I signed up with Thigbe. Texags users have given me good advice a number of times so hopefully it works out this time too.

Dont have house 2 details handy but house 1 is .06070 before delivery charges or thigbe fee. My amazing multiyear rate expired earlier this year. I was around 9c after fees then. It was a glorious 3 years.

My last month rates
