We have a misting system. We still get the occasional wasp and mud dauber but nothing of concern. Not sure what the repellent actually is (supposedly natural), but it seems to work fairly well for mosquitos. Our system sprays 3-4x per day.

What's rough cost on one of these? Our son loves being outside and seems mosquitos are attracted to him. If we don't put on off he'll have 5 bites within 10 minutes.

Ours was already installed when we bought the house. However, we had to do some maintenance and in that process got a quote for new system. To cover our backyard would have been about $2800 I believe. We ended fixing our existing system which also covers our front yard for way less. We also currently pay about $150 a month for repellent refills/maintenance.

I use Bifen a couple of times a year. I also spray my next door neighbors yards "because I'm a nice guy" but really, this cuts down mosquitos in my yard about 90%. This also kills spiders, wood roaches, ants and just about everything else that comes in contact with this stuff. Lasts about 2-4 months.

Unless it's changed, many companies have stopped recommending them because they kill EVERYTHING. Including the butterflies, bees, moths, etc.

Just as much harm as good.

How do you spray it/what kind of sprayer do you use?

In my townhome I just had the little handheld that you pumped and sprayed. Worked fine, but took a while even for that lot, I'd imagine using it would take an hour plus on our new lot.

Anything more efficient?

I used a handheld pump sprayer for years and it worked fine, but now I used a milwaukee battery powered sprayer. you just want to spray shaded spots were mosquitos can hide to get out of the sun during the day. I don't spray my whole yard, just all the flower beds, shrubs and trees, all round the edge of the windows and exterior of my house and garage. I know it's working pretty quick because I'll find dead bugs around my garage quite often after I spray and some of them manage to make it into my house where I find them dead usually by the door. mosquitos disappear pretty quick after I spray too.
