Math or engineering problem?
1. Plastic Circle Ring Sprinkler ala http://rb.gy/a8b1q
2. Typical street city water pressure
3. Goal = 1 inch depth watering lawn/garden/tree/etc. (ignore runoff, clay soil, etc.)
4. TIME in minutes to run such a system to meet goal????

Amazon help = Zero

Will be doing the multi-can/cup "actual catch" testing later when water supplies resume to "normal" in Aggieland.

For those tuna can suggestions
the results for this type sprinkler are feast/famine in the sense that where a stream hits = much more than .... and where nos tream hits = much less than, if any at all .... then objects blocking water paths .... so without water engineering formulas at hand .... GUESSING 1/2hr = 1-inch average water coverage.

1" of rain is about .6 gallons/sf
Measure sf of sprinkled area
Multiply sf x .6 to get total gallons required
Turn on spigot, go to water meter, and record flow in 30 seconds
Multiply flow by 2 to get cf of flow per minute
Multiply by .134 to get gallons per minute
Divide gallons required by gallons/minute flow to get minutes of eating required

Alternatively...
Time how long it takes for .083 cf of water to flow through the meter. This represents 1" of water over 1 sf of space. Multiply this time by the number of sf sprinkled and that is how long to sprinkle 1" across the entire area.
