Liquid chlorine purchase hack - FAIL

Since starting the tfp method of pool maintenance I usually just buy the chlorine at HD. But sometimes in the summer they are out. Along the way I discovered that often you can get it at wallyworld and have it delivered and save driving around to hds looking for it. But it comes with a caveat.
I have discovered that, while convenient, this method has its drawbacks. Mainly due to the apparent inherently low iq of the employees (yes, I know this sounds mean, but stick with me and judge for yourself.)

I always order 12 - 1 gallon bottles. I have received as many as 20 and as few as 2. About half the time I actually receive 12.

Once they switched it to a ship it to me option instead of delivery from the store. Figured no big deal. Unfortunately, it wasn't manufacturer shipping. It was some dude at Walmart putting 3 or 4 bottles in improperly sized boxes. The FedEx guy was literally cussing up a storm on the ring camera. There was chlorine all over the porch and a complete mess as at least one bottle per box had opened or leaked. Shocked they didn't get in big trouble from FedEx for shipping a corrosive liquid like that.

Ordered a batch plus some sos pads yesterday - yes exciting times at the Absolute house! The picture below shows what showed up on my porch this morning. Feel really bad for the 5 yo kids that get my order! Contacted wally world right away. Figured they could get the driver to come back and fix it. Nope. Refunded me and said keep the stuff. Luckily 18 yos and their friends will drink this crap.

This all sounds very familiar. The finish on my workbench was ruined by a walmart delivery driver setting a leaking bottle of chlorine on it last month. No koolaid jammers yet, but fingers crossed.

Find a Pinchapenny near you and be done with it. Their chlorine is about the same price as WalMart, but you don't have to deal with WM. Yeah, it's not delivered, but it's only one trip a month. Plus, it's always fresh and they carry it year round. Their swappable jugs are 2.5 gallon, too, so you're only dealing with 5 or 6 versus 12-15 gallon sized jugs that you then have to dispose of. I buy 6 jugs a month and it seems like I'm always getting one for free plus some kind of discount.

This is one of the better life hacks we have stumbled on...Walmart home delivery. I think we are over 2,000 dollars in free merchandise due to their ****ty packing. We have dogs and bees. Both of these require a lot of dog food and sugar. Those notoriously come damaged. Hole in the bag, broken bag, missing 2 cups of food or sugar....no problem..reship it. Sometimes they have to reship three times before it comes completely undamaged. That goes for just about everything. If you order other things with the sugar or dog food, the odds are they will be dropped in the box and crushed during shipping...boom...reship the item.

Amazon is the same way. If they send you the wrong order, you just keep it, they will reship to the original purchaser when that person complains. I have ordered SINGLE expensive items from amazon in the past, and the brain donor picker will grab the SINGLE BOX of 12 and ship that to me instead. That's pretty rare, but it has happened a few times. Amazon does not care.

Last summer, while I was finishing up a house to sell it, I ordered a 36" GE under cabinet LED kitchen light from Amazon. I got 1- 1 CASE of 6 lights. I tried to return the extra but they said no, keep them.
