So bought a pretty standard sink 33x22 to replace our existing one. Took out the old but the new won't fit. It's only cut about 20.5 inches and needs to be more like 21.25 (mostly because of the clip holders).

A couple of questions:
We have a big party coming up so as a backup I had a plumber scheduled in case I ran into any issues. But will they touch the granite?

Is there a ton of risk of cracking if I went at it with an angle grinder and diamond blade or should I just look for a different sink?

When you ask, 'will the plumber touch the granite?', are you asking if they will cut the granite? If that is what you are asking, pretty certain no plumber would touch that.

Next, modifying a sink cutout in granite while already installed will take an incredibly steady hand to get a clean line(s), make a dusty mess (many precautions can be taken of course), and take a long time to polish to smooth.

I would have Mr. Plumber or yourself put the old sink back on for the party. And take your time to find a sink that fits better.

Take all of your measurements including corner radius before re-installing.

Contact customer support at Blanco.com and Koehler to see what sinks are a match for your cutout dimensions. You might try visiting a Ferguson showroom if convenient

Just to clarify, we're talking about drop-in sinks here, not undermount, correct?
And how well is the granite supported under the sink? How thick is the granite, and how thick is the plywood underneath that is supporting it? How far does the granite stick out past the plywood, or is it flush?
