Our new house has a pool that is nearly complete. It has an automatic pool cover. I am looking for some help with some measurements from anyone who may have one.
The pool is rectangular and on one end the cover is rolled up in a concrete trench that is covered by coping. When you cover the pool it runs a long a track that is built into the pool wall just below the coping all around the pool
On three sides of the pool, the pool wall itself goes straight up to the coping (obviously). On the side of the pool where the cover goes however, the pool wall goes up and near the waterline it makes an angle (prob about 15 * upward, toward the decking). It ramps up until it gets to the trench that holds the cover. This ramp allows for some buffer for the water before it spills over into the trench that houses the cover.
This may not make any sense if you don't have a pool cover. But if you have one, you'll know what I'm talking about.
My question is, can anyone that has this measure a couple things for me? I'm afraid my pool may be off
I'm curious if someone could measure two dimensions for me. 1) how far below the track is it to the lowest entry point of the skimmers and two, how far below the track is it to the highest point of the ramp before water spills over the cover
I am afraid we should have several inches between these two (skimmer should be well under the water so like 6 inches below the track while the top of the ramp should be close to the ramp, like 1 inch)
If anyone has this set up and could measure that I'd greatly appreciate it
